Who we are

Founded in 2006, Spoon.net is transforming the world of application delivery. We are completely employee-owned, love working for ourselves, and relish the freedom to take on ambitious challenges.

We are software engineers, UX designers, and product managers. In-office Smash tournaments are a weekly occurrence, we get together often for team BBQ's, and we play more board games than we'd like to admit. We work hard, take risks, have fun, and share in each other's success.

Most importantly, we love creating products that millions of people use every day.

What we do

Spoon develops breakthrough virtualization, streaming, and networking technologies that allow applications of all shapes and sizes to be run instantly, anywhere. Our products are fundamentally changing the way that software is developed, packaged, tested, deployed, and managed.

Thousands of organizations employ Spoon to distribute their enterprise applications; tens of thousands of developers have discovered the power of containerization for testing and deployment and use our cross-browser testing and automation capabilities; and millions of end users have discovered that streaming software is faster, safer, and easier than installing.

We build new products as quickly as we can dream them up — and invent the novel algorithms and technologies needed to translate those visions into reality.

Why we love
working here

BENEFITS

Spoon offers exceptional medical, dental, and vision coverage and pays 100% of the insurance premiums for all employees. We match 401(k) contributions, have liberal vacation and sick day policies, and offer many other benefits like HSA plans, free public transit cards, an employee discounts program, and disability and life insurance.

OWNERSHIP

Work for yourself. Our generous employee stock option program ensures that everyone shares in our financial success. And a unique horizontal management structure inspired by open source patterns promotes individual ownership and accountability.

FOOD

Aside from catered lunches each Friday, our kitchen is stuffed to the brim with cold cuts, fresh bread, bagels, wraps, yogurt, chips, nuts, bars, and fresh fruit and vegetables. It's Seattle, so the coffee flows freely, and our fridges are stocked with soda, juice, Red Bull, sparkling water, and local Washington microbrews.

GETAWAYS

Need to unwind sometimes? So do we. That's why we have random company vacations and hackathons in places like Hawaii, Vegas, London, and Miami whenever we need to recharge.

ENVIRONMENT

We all have offices, wear whatever we like, and hate bureaucracy. Want the CEO's ear? Just walk down the hall. There's also a game room with ping pong and N64 if you need to blow off some steam... or if you just want to play Mario Kart.

EQUIPMENT

We'll spring for whatever workstation you want, and you can get yourself some toys and speakers on the house. Pimp your workspace — we want you to be as productive as possible.

LOCATION

Seattle: The Emerald City, The City of Goodwill... whatever you want to call it, it's amazing. We're right in the heart of a top-5 tech hub with the reigning Super Bowl champions just down the street. We're a stone's throw from some of the best skiing, fishing, and hiking on the West Coast, and the seafood doesn't get any fresher than Pike's Place. Oh yes, and there's no state income tax.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Spoon's office overlooks peaceful Lake Union, giving us a gorgeous view of the water. We're a five-minute drive from the Space Needle, a quick bus ride from downtown, and a short walk from great bars and restaurants.
